A solution is here for you.  Betsy Yanasak is offering vegetable gardens to-go.  How do these gardens work? Within each basket, there are two 18” rows of vegetable seeds perfectly spaced onto newspaper strips and attached with flour/water paste.  All you have to do is dig 18 inch rows, drop in the strips of seeds, cover and water.  SIMPLE!  Each garden contains 2 rows of seeds for carrots, spinach, and radishes.  In less than 5 minutes, you can have your vegetables planted and move on to the activity of your choice.

Bee Curious? Bid on a Bee Experience tour in North Seattle. The winner will get a personalized tour of our hives. The tour will start with an on the ground show and tell of the wooden ware that make up a Langstroth hive system and discuss the benefits of natural beekeeping. We will throw many fascinating factoids your way. After you’ve been suited up we will take the tour up to our almost flat garage roof to tour the insides of a working hive where you will get a live show and tell. Learn to tell the difference between a worker bee and a drone, brood cells and honey cells, maybe even spot the queen.

Donated by Laurel Menoche and John Fox (and the tour's at their house)

Bidding starts at $50.

Fine print: Tour will be weather dependent as bees only exit the hives on dry days above 50 degrees, best if done midsummer when hives will be in full swing  You must be comfortable climbing a ladder and stepping onto a roof while wearing gloves and a hooded veil. Please don’t freak out, fall off our roof and sue us.

Custom Baby items

Barbara Bundy (Team Harmony Bear) is offering custom baby items, including crib sheets (x2), nursing pillow covers (x2) and a full quilt (just one!).

All are made to order by me in the theme/color palette/fabric that the buyer wants. Cotton or cotton flannel.

Crib Sheets
Tired of the same old choices in sheets for cribs and toddler beds? Don’t want to pay designer prices for adorable, unique nursery décor? Delight your little one with a custom-made fitted sheet in ANY fabric or theme. Flannel or cotton broadcloth (flannel crib sheets are particularly hard to find retail). Sheets will fit standard crib/toddler bed mattresses. Browse fabric.com or any other site for your choice. Upon order, the sheet will be mailed to you within 2 weeks. Two sheets available for bidding.

Bidding starts at $10 each.

Nursing Pillow Cover
This is a custom-made cover for the ever-popular Boppy nursing pillow. You can never have too many pillow covers (they’re often in the wash!), so why not have cute custom-made covers that suit your nursery theme? Flannel or cotton broadcloth (flannel boppy covers are practically non-existent in retail) with a zip closure. Browse fabric.com or any other site for your choice. Upon order, the pillow cover will be mailed to you within 2 weeks. Two pillow covers available for bidding.

Bidding starts at $10 each.

Baby/Toddler Quilt
A homemade quilt – crafted to order in the fabric/theme of your choice – to fit a crib or toddler bed! Dimensions will be 36” by 60” unless another size is requested.  The front will be a simple nine-patch or strip design (your choice) made out of flannel or cotton broadcloth. The back will be plush (minke, microplush), flannel, or broadcloth. Browse fabric.com or any other site for your choice. Upon order, the sheet will be mailed to you within 3 weeks.  One quilt available for bidding.

Poetry by Amy Nelson

A printed personal poem written by Amy Nelson on the topic of your choice that is any kind of somewhat relevant to what we do here at AQ (which covers a lot of material!)  In terms of rhyming or being remotely grammatically good, I’m not promising that it should.  It might not be long or really funny, but let’s just say you’ll get what you’ve earned from your money.  Six dollars may get you a short and colorful haiku, but realize that dollars fertilize verses created just for you.  **PA support needed to create document schedule prior to production, may require tech editor and senior review. **  ;)

Bidding starts at $6

Adventure on the High Seas!

Ahoy!!  Join O Captain My Captain (aka Tom Wang) and Captain Morgan (aka Rick Goode) for an adventure on the high seas.  Gather 8 to 12 of your closest friends or colleagues (or folks you may want to throw overboard) to race two J-105 sail boats against each other in a match race to the death! (or "to the pain" as Wesley from the Princess Bride would say) or at least to cocktail hour after the race.  Captain Morgan will apply his sly and devious skills against the intrepid O Captain My Captain as both crews will battle for supremacy on the waters of Puget Sound.  We'll set sail from Shilshole Bay Marina on a warm sunny day, do a short match race after a bit of practice, then raft together for some food and drink and group merriment.  No, the Captains will not walk the plank, but will provide food, drink and tall sea tales :-)

Starting bid $25/person and we'll need at least 8 to crew both boats (4-6 to a boat).
