Adventure on the High Seas!

Ahoy!!  Join O Captain My Captain (aka Tom Wang) and Captain Morgan (aka Rick Goode) for an adventure on the high seas.  Gather 8 to 12 of your closest friends or colleagues (or folks you may want to throw overboard) to race two J-105 sail boats against each other in a match race to the death! (or "to the pain" as Wesley from the Princess Bride would say) or at least to cocktail hour after the race.  Captain Morgan will apply his sly and devious skills against the intrepid O Captain My Captain as both crews will battle for supremacy on the waters of Puget Sound.  We'll set sail from Shilshole Bay Marina on a warm sunny day, do a short match race after a bit of practice, then raft together for some food and drink and group merriment.  No, the Captains will not walk the plank, but will provide food, drink and tall sea tales :-)

Starting bid $25/person and we'll need at least 8 to crew both boats (4-6 to a boat).

Need new artwork for your home or office?  Those walls looking a little bare?  Bid on one of three photographs taken by Billie-Jo Thibault.  The photo will arrive matted and ready to be framed in a 16x20 frame.

Undine Kipka is offering to draw a 5x7 pencil portrait of anyone who would like to send in a photo of themselves or a loved one(s). This is not region-limited as long as you send a photo to Undine.

Pho Lunch in Seattle

Pho Bar in Seattle's 20th floor kitchen!  Leilani will be making veggie and meat broth and bringing in all of the pho condiments...chicken, cilantro, noodles, etc etc.  The lunch will be on Tuesday, March 27th.

$7 will get you a serving.

Clams and oysters!

Fresh clams and oysters!  Dean Hove will bring you clams and oysters from his property in Shelton, Washington.  No limit on how many!  If you are feeling adventurous, you can even trek out to Shelton and pick your own!

Bidding starts at $10 for a dozen oysters and $5 for a dozen clams.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Brownies with Chocolate Ganache

Virginia See's peanut butter chocolate chip brownies with chocolate ganache are for the peanut butter and chocolate lover alike.  More blondie than brownie, they are firm and delectable (like a cookie), filled with chocolate morsels, and topped with a creamy chocoloate ganache.  A great dessert for when you have people over for dinner, need something to bring to a potluck, or just want to bring something home to your sweeties as a special surprise.

Banana Bread

Virginia See's banana bread is made from her mom’s old family recipe and it always receives hearty compliments. You can’t eat just one piece, and why would you want to? Perfect as a gift to a new parent, to keep at your desk for a few days for delicious breakfasts, or to bring home to your family for a delicious and easy weekend morning snack.

Cecile's Famous Pork Lumpias

Nothing beats Cecile Valmonte's pork lumpias (egg rolls).  Bid on a package of 50 lumpias accompanied with sweet and sour sauce.  The package will be frozen...all you need to do is reheat when you get home!

Buy a cake!

Cindy Fields will bake you a cake (or cupcakes)!  The type of cake is bidder's choice.  Cindy's specialty is chocolate layer cake with dark chocolate icing.  She also suggests a caramel cake.

Buy a jar of 'kraut!  Ross has cooked up his famous raw sauerkraut...a secret recipe with a cult following.

Lake Washington Cocktail Cruise

Enjoy a lovely evening or sunny Sunday afternoon cruise for up to four people aboard a Northwest-classic wooden sail boat. At an agreed upon evening or afternoon, we’ll depart from Leschi for a tour around Lake Washington on a 26-foot Thunderbird sailboat, the Hussy II. The itinerary will depend on weather and time, but you can be guaranteed a good time. The owner will provide your choice of wine or boat drink cocktails and some fine nibblies, plus all the Rainier beer your heart could desire.

Rent a Tandem Kayak

Paddle a kayak around Shilshole Bay and the Shipping Canal in Seattle.  You and another lucky person will be provided all of the paddling gear and launch just west of the Locks on the Ballard side.  Golden Gardens and Discovery Park are close by, and you are likely to see all sorts of wildlife…seals, bald eagles, cormorants, maybe even a pod of orcas if you are lucky!

Rent a Tandem Cruiser

Cruise a retro Schwinn Twinn tandem bicycle through Ballard.  Eating and shopping along Old Ballard Avenue, visiting the Sunday farmer's market, Golden Gardens, and the Locks...how better to see and do it all than from a classic tandem with someone helping you pedal!  Lots of fun for those of you who live in Seattle or those planning to come up for a visit.
